Ziteboard is heavily used on Reddit by math tutors answering questions, homework asked by student. Reddit is a social news website and forum where content is socially curated and promoted by site members through voting. There are many subreddit concerned with math, like cheating in math homework, help with math problem, tricky question in mathematics etc. Let's take some example how Ziteboard can be used successfully in a reddit thread.

There is a 3D body bounded by different shapes. The cylinder radius is 2. The bottom of the 3D shape is a XY plane. The top part of the body is a paraboloid. The question is to find the volume of this shape with integral. Remember: In mathematics—in particular, in multivariable calculus—a volume integral refers to an integral over a 3-dimensional domain, that is, it is a special case of multiple integrals.

A question about sinusoidal function. Is the sinus function is odd or even function? A function is called even function if it has a specific symmetry property, the function is symmetrical on the y axis. In common language,  this is the most typical symmetry. On the other hand, a function is called to odd if it is symmetrical to the origin of the Cartesian coordinate system. Algebraically, the function f(x) is even, if for all real x it is true that f(x) is equal with f(-x). This means, the left hand side of the graph of the function is the same as the corresponding right hand side. Similarly, the function g(x) is odd if for all x in the domain g(x) = - g(-x).

A question about periodic function. Let's recall what periodic function mean. In mathematics, a periodic function is a function that repeats its values in regular intervals or periods. Drawing a graph is really easy in Ziteboard, since free style drawing, sketching supported. You can draw Cartesian coordinate system, by the arrow tool, the line tool and the combined tool straight arrow. Each tool has a hotkey. If you want to draw a periodic function, then sketch one period of the function, select this piece of line by long pressing and clone it by copy paste.

Although Ziteboard offers a 2D, infinte canvas, you're still able to draw 3D shapes. Check out the next question about a surface integral. The task is to evaluate a surface integral in a flat plane, but the plane doesn't lie in the XY plane. In mathematics, a surface integral is a generalization of multiple integrals to integration over surfaces. After thinking carefully about the problem, it turn out that the surface integral must be zero, since the vector valued function lied in the plane where the integral was asked. The key point is always a good sketch about the problem, that's where Ziteboard comes in.

The other area where Ziteboard is really useful is physics. The first step is always a good sketch. Check out this problem about projectile motion. The bullet follows a special orbit, a degenerated parable, a straight line. Projectile motion is a form of motion experienced by an object or particle (a projectile) that is thrown near the Earth's surface.

Another problem from physics is the following. A uniform beam of mass m is pivoted at one end and held in equilibrium at the angle theta at a horizontal wire, as shown in the Ziteboard sketch. The question is the tension needed to exert. The key point of the solution that net torque must be zero in equilibrium.
