Screen sharing vs. Whiteboard sharing
Can I show my students my computer screen?
Sharing your screen has some disadvantage. Your team mate can see your sensitive data, too, like your gmail. Ziteboard only shares the content of the canvas of the whiteboard. This sharing is not just safer, but much faster. The real time communication is almost instant between two or multiple collaborators.
Ziteboard is not based on screen sharing, it is based on board sharing. The content of your board is shared instantly. It is recommended to turn on the Mirror View from the bottom right corner, so the position also will be synced, you always see the same area of the infinite canvas.
Can I upload a PDF or a JPEG file?
Yes, there are many ways to achieve it. You can drag and drop from another tab. In chrome, you have to grab the icon at the begging of the URL address bar (lock or info icon). You can also drag and drop files from your machine. Use the Insert Image or PDF from the menu. If you plan to insert images frequently, display the Insert Image tool as an icon. For this, go to Settings in the menu and find Display Insert Image.
Can my student share his/her content or screen with me?
For example, if s/he has a homework assignment electronically, but has not yet shared it with me, can s/he pull it up and share it on Ziteboard?
Yes, students also can create boards and share it. However students can own only three boards if they are in free plan.
