Besides the whiteboard collaboration, two people can video or audio chat during the session. See how the video and audio chat works.
We have checked the logs and saw the issue of the connection-failure, but unfortunately, we don't have a ready-to-implement solution. The issue is not unfamiliar for us – we have been investigating it for a while now. The exact technicality is that it is a peer-to-peer connection between the two devices, which we can't control or monitor. We’re looking into the best possible solutions but we cannot guarantee any promising results just yet.
We identified some possible solutions that worked in some cases, but not always. Here are my tips:
- Use Google Chome instead of Firefox.
- Try both directions: you call your partner or your partner calls you. This requires that the two of you exchange at least a text message in the chat first.
- Try a different network, for example, mobile net instead of wifi or cable
- Do not click out from the Ziteboard tab, make sure it is in the focus
- Turn off VPN
- Restart your device and don't start any video-related application before the video chat.
Thank you for raising our attention to this issue. Unfortunately, there’s a technical limit we cannot overcome, so in some cases, the audio-video chat will not perform and work properly. The exact technicality is that we cannot control the connection built up between the 2 devices of a collaboration session, as the data is transferred between the devices directly and not through our servers. Investigating the issue we identified that a device restart may solve the problem, however, not in all cases. If the other party initiates the call it may also solve the issue. We’re looking into the best possible solutions but we cannot guarantee any promising results just yet.
